Every vehicle that changes hands has to come with a clean title — and that's where this team comes in. As Title Team Manager, you'll lead the group responsible for making sure title transactions move quickly, accurately, and by the book, from the moment a title comes in the door to the moment it lands with a buyer or lienholder.
You'll own the whole process: verifying titles, handling retitles and SPOAs, chasing down lien releases, and untangling the occasional multi-state mess. It's a role for someone who can coach a team through their daily work and still roll up their sleeves when a deal gets complicated.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of title specialists handling both private-party and dealer transactions
- Manage the full title lifecycle — verification, retitling, SPOA processing, lienholder payoffs/releases, and shipment tracking
- Step in on tricky title exceptions (unreleased liens, damaged or incorrect titles, superseded documents), working directly with DMVs, lenders, and lienholders across the country
- Keep an eye on aged deals and make sure the oldest, most stuck transactions get prioritized
- Build and maintain the SOPs, QA processes, and escalation paths that keep the team consistent and accountable
- Team up with Customer Success, Operations, and Engineering to find and fix process gaps — including opportunities to automate
- Track key metrics (cycle time, throughput, error rates, aged deals) and flag trends or risks to leadership
- Be the go-to person for high-stakes cases: suspected fraud, ELT issues spanning multiple states, unusual lienholder demands
- Stay on top of state-by-state DMV title and registration rules, and make sure your team does too
- Handle the full people side: hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance reviews
What You Bring
- 3+ years working in vehicle titles, DMV operations, dealership title/registration, lien services, or a similar title/escrow role
- At least 1 year leading or supervising a team
- Solid grasp of title, lien, and DMV processes — including ELT and SPOA — across multiple states
- The organizational chops to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Confident, clear communicator who's comfortable talking directly with DMV staff, lenders, lienholders, and internal teams
- Data-driven mindset — comfortable using metrics to spot bottlenecks and track performance
- Solid Google Workspace skills (Sheets, Docs); CRM or ops tooling experience is a bonus
- A bachelor's degree is nice to have, but real-world experience matters more here
