Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality's Hampton Inn Daytona Beach is seeking a courteous and energetic bartender/server to provide beverages and light dining for guests in the lounge. You will handle cash, input room-service orders, and maintain accurate checks while adhering to liquor regulations and safety rules.

You will keep the bar stocked, prepare garnishes and beverages, greet guests, document orders, and ensure a clean, safe work environment with professional presentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, and vouchers.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to garnish, handle glassware/bottles, scoop ice and mix drinks.
• Ability to comprehend written product labeling to apply safety instructions.
• Ability to remember and promote menu variety.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment (e.g., coffee maker).
• Ability to stand and walk for long shifts; lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• To serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, with guest satisfaction.
• Greet guests, promote and document drink orders; mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes.
• Maintain daily bar setup; stock beer, wine, spirits, and supplies based on projections.
• Manage stock and storage of garnishes, juices and perishables to ensure quality.
• Handle cash from guests, make change, verify charges and balance money.
• Lock up and store beverages/food; secure bank and deposits.
• Answer bar phone within three rings and take room service orders; input orders into POS and create checks.
• Perform general cleaning and adhere to health standards and safety procedures.
• Follow company policies and safety rules; report unsafe conditions and accidents.
• Maintain neat, clean appearance and assist other beverage staff as needed.
