Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Security Engineering team to shape identity architecture and build Tier-0 access infrastructure. You will lead authentication and authorization strategy, create secure guardrails for AI agents and non-human workloads, and drive scalable, self-service access across Robinhood’s critical systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend or security platform engineering experience.
• Built security platforms or identity infrastructure from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of identity primitives and least-privilege access.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, or WebAuthn.
• Experience with RBAC, ABAC, or similar access controls.
• Experience governing AI agents, LLMs, or non-human workloads.
• Knowledge of cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Define and build the core access control plane architecture for company-wide resources.
• Design, build, and operate highly available identity infrastructure.
• Implement modern identity protocols and access frameworks.
• Develop governance and observability for AI agentic systems.
• Create self-service platforms for request, approval, provisioning, and auditing of access.
• Set technical direction and mentor engineers across the org.
