Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Security Platform team to design backend systems that securely process and manage customer data across the platform. You will own authentication, authorization, and privacy-preserving data operations, collaborating with access management, infrastructure, and data teams to strengthen protections.

This role is based in Bellevue, WA and Menlo Park, CA with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week as part of a high-performing,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems, data infrastructure, or security.
• Proficient in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience building and operating services in cloud environments such as AWS and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with distributed systems (databases, messaging, data processing).
• Understanding of encryption, secure data handling, and privacy-focused design.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and data pipelines that securely store, process, and route customer data.
• Develop authentication, authorization, and anonymization systems to support privacy requirements.
• Define and execute the vision for authentication across AI platforms and MCP ecosystems.
• Implement data retention and deletion workflows aligned with regulatory standards (CCPA, GDPR).
• Collaborate with access management engineers to enforce least-privilege access controls.
• Contribute to monitoring and auditing systems that track data access and use.
