Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Thermal Engineer to support the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team. You will apply your expertise in heat transfer and fluid systems to develop and verify thermal hardware for lunar landers and related products.

Collaboration across engineering functions is essential as you drive designs from concept through build and test. Minimum BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 3+ years in thermal engineering is required; MS/PhD and aerospace experience are highly

Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
  • 3+ years of thermal engineering experience.
  • Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, radiators, and spacecraft hardware.
  • Experience designing, sizing, building, and testing hardware.
  • Basic CAD experience; Creo preferred.
  • Experience with CFD methods for component-level analysis.
  • Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, FloCAD, MATLAB, Python, CFD++, Ansys Fluent.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork to deliver results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thermal analysis expertise to Lunar vehicle architectures.
  • Lead hardware design, sizing, building, and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive designs through build, test and verification.
