Job summary

Blue Origin's Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team seeks a Thermal Engineer to provide thermal analysis for lunar vehicle architectures, driving designs from concept through build, test, and verification.

With a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 3+ years in thermal engineering, you will apply heat transfer and CFD methods, work with Creo and other tools, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, reliable spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience
  • Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals
  • Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, radiators, and other common spacecraft hardware
  • Experience designing, sizing, building, and/or testing hardware
  • Basic experience with CAD software; preferably Creo
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation methods for component-level analysis
  • Experience with thermal analysis software tools such as Thermal Desktop, FloCAD, MATLAB, Python scripting, CFD++, Ansys Fluent
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver results

  • Provide thermal analysis to lunar vehicle architectures.
  • Contribute to a team developing groundbreaking thermal hardware for lunar landers and drive designs through build, test, and verification.
  • Apply your technical leadership and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
