Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team. You will work on groundbreaking thermal hardware for lunar landers, guiding designs from concept through build, test, and verification. Collaboration across disciplines and a passion for safety and quality are essential.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in heat transfer, CAD (Creo), CFD analysis, and hands-on hardware testing, with a track record of delivering results in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience.
  • Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, radiators, and other spacecraft hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, sizing, building, and testing hardware.
  • Understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation process.
  • Moderate experience with CAD software; preferably Creo.
  • Familiarity with CFD simulation methods for component-level analysis.
  • Experience designing and testing thermal components.
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver results.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a team of Thermal Engineers developing thermal hardware for lunar landers and drive designs through build, test, and verification.
  • Apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
