Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team. You will contribute to lunar lander thermal hardware, drive designs from conception through build, test, and verification, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mission safety.

Required a B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 3+ years in thermal engineering, strong heat transfer knowledge, CAD Creo experience, and CFD methods. Relocation provided and travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience
  • Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals
  • Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, and other common spacecraft hardware
  • Demonstrated experience designing, sizing, building, and testing hardware
  • Understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation process
  • Moderate experience with CAD software; preferably Creo
  • Familiarity with computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation methods for component-level analysis
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver results

  • In this role you will contribute to a team of Thermal Engineers simultaneously developing groundbreaking thermal hardware for lunar landers and driving those designs through build, test, and verification.
