Job summary

Marcus Theatres in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily theatre operations, schedule staff, manage cash handling, and ensure a safe, clean environment. You will train and coach associates, monitor inventory, and support hiring and onboarding processes.

You'll troubleshoot projection and sound systems, uphold PCI compliance and corporate policies, and analyze trends to boost guest satisfaction and sales.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with supervisory experience in a high-volume theatre, cinema, retail, or hospitality setting.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Eager to learn new skills, tasks, and software to meet evolving industry demands.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; standing, walking, and occasional sitting.
• Ability to obtain food handling licenses as required by local/state laws.
• High school diploma or equivalent; business or marketing coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily theatre operations including staffing, scheduling, cash handling, and opening/closing procedures.
• Train, coach, and develop associates while fostering a positive and service-driven environment.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor cleanliness, maintenance, and safety across all areas.
• Operate and troubleshoot projection and sound equipment, as well as POS and other theatre systems.
• Support hiring processes, orientation, and ongoing associate development.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, audit processes, and PCI regulations.
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism and positive service recovery.
• Analyze business trends to drive sales, optimize schedules, and support corporate initiatives.
