K&L Gates seeks an experienced Market Development Senior Manager to lead marketing and business development initiatives for the Texas market from Austin, Dallas, or Houston. You will partner with Office Managing Partners and Client Growth teams to drive branding, client development, and industry growth.

The role demands strategic insight, relationship-building with senior stakeholders, and hands-on execution in a large, global law firm. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years of marketing, business development and/or sales experience in a professional services firm or similar environment.
• MBA or similar graduate-level degree preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the global marketplace for professional services.
• High level of maturity and confidence to interact with sophisticated clients.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and set strategy for market development objectives.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development aspects of strategic office plans and budgets with independent execution.
• Maintain knowledge of the Texas market and industry landscape for legal services.
• Identify expansion opportunities and align firm solutions to client needs.
• Drive partnerships with local organizations and deliver value through events.
• Foster a culture of business development across offices and teams.
• Create cross-regional connections for leverage across markets.
• Support local PR and advertising and lead external relations efforts.
• Collaborate with Pitches, Proposals, Events, Brand Marketing and others to deliver programs.
• Develop and coach direct report team members and provide ongoing feedback.
• Measure initiatives and provide regular reporting.
• Co-develop lead generation and tracking programs.
• Orient new lateral attorneys to the office and firm.
