Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Market Development Manager to join our Pittsburgh, New York, Charlotte, or Chicago offices. The role demands self-starters who can work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and client-service focus.

As a market development leader, you will collaborate with lawyers and marketing colleagues to design and execute practice- and office-centric strategies, manage budgets, and drive business development activity across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Seven years of marketing, business development, or sales experience in professional services.
• Experience working with national or international offices.
• MBA or similar graduate degree preferred.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong project management and attention to detail.
• Proactive in developing client relationships and pursuing opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop and implement BD strategies with office leadership.
• Co-develop annual marketing and BD budgets with practice leaders.
• Collaborate with lawyers to execute BD activities across the firm's network.
• Prepare RFPs, write proposals, and create client presentations.
• Manage BD process and pipeline for the office or practice.
• Plan seminars and events and lead lead follow-up.
• Identify press opportunities and collaborate with marketing teams.
• Mentor and train marketing staff in the office.
