Graybar Electric Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop new prospects and maintain relationships with established customers across Michigan. You will meet or exceed gross margin targets by promoting products in your territory, visiting customers at their sites, and presenting tailored solutions.

This role requires extensive travel, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently to achieve goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in sales
• 2+ years experience preferred in sales
• 4 year degree preferred
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing
• Negotiation skills
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals
• Extensive travel required, including overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed and recommend new items for stock
• Maintain current customer records and files; assist in collection of past due accounts
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary
