Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a driven Business Developer to expand the landscape installation and construction book of business across a defined territory in the Virginia Beach area. This growth role offers build-from-scratch potential with full support from leadership and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of B2B outside sales in construction/landscape or related services, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and a track record of closing commercial contracts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of proven B2B outside sales success in construction, landscape, property, or related service industries.
• Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills with a track record of closing commercial contracts.
• Proficiency with Salesforce or equivalent CRM and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred – equivalent work experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach focused on landscape installation and construction projects.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of installation opportunities outside the existing maintenance book of business.
• Develop customized proposals and presentations addressing client needs and highlighting value.
• Negotiate and close contracts per pricing standards and profitability goals.
• Build long-term relationships with property managers, developers, general contractors, and key decision makers.
• Serve as primary contact during the sales cycle and ensure smooth transition to operations post-sale.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management teams on accurate proposals and service delivery.
• Review large-scale opportunities ($1M+) with senior leadership; collaborate with Branch and Enhancement Manager on opportunities up to $1M.
