Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Landscape Business Developer in Virginia Beach, VA to grow landscape installation and construction opportunities within a defined territory. This newly created role comes with strong leadership support and room to build from the ground up, leveraging existing operations and strategic partnerships.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of B2B outside sales in construction or related services, excellent negotiation and presentation skills, and Salesforce proficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of proven B2B outside sales success — construction, landscape installation, or related services.
• Project management or construction industry background strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Salesforce or equivalent CRM and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree preferred — equivalent work experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach focused on landscape installation and construction projects.
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of installation opportunities outside the existing maintenance book of business.
• Develop customized proposals and presentations that address client needs and highlight company value.
• Negotiate and close contracts in alignment with pricing standards and profitability goals.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with property managers, developers, general contractors, and key decision makers.
• Serve as primary contact during the sales cycle and ensure smooth transition to operations post-sale.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management teams on accurate proposals and service delivery.
• Review large-scale opportunities ($1M+) with senior leadership; bid with Branch and Enhancement Manager on up to $1M.

Our client is a nationally recognized commercial services company with a strong and growing presence in the Virginia Beach market. They are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Developer to grow their landscape installation and construction book of business across a defined territory in the Virginia Beach area. This is a newly created growth role — an opportunity to build something from the ground up with the full support of an established operations and leadership team behind you.

The ideal candidate brings B2B sales experience in construction, project management, property management, or a related service industry and knows how to build lasting relationships with developers, general contractors, and property decision makers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach focused on landscape installation and construction projects
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of installation opportunities outside the existing maintenance book of business
• Develop customized proposals and presentations that address client needs and highlight company value
• Negotiate and close contracts in alignment with company pricing standards and profitability goals

• Work with branch and senior leadership to set annual sales goals, budgets, and strategy

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of proven B2B outside sales success — construction, landscape installation, project management, property management, facility management, or related service industries required
• Project management or construction industry background strongly preferred
• Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills with a track record of closing commercial contracts
• Proficiency in Salesforce or equivalent CRM and Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred — equivalent work experience accepted
