Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a sales professional to increase revenue within a defined territory by building strong relationships with potential and existing customers. You will pursue sales quotas and contribute to gross margin objectives.

Responsibilities include developing sales plans, visiting customers, answering product and terms questions, and mentoring junior staff as needed. Expect field activity and occasional branch support as part of the role.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline; 2-5 years of related field experience preferred.
• Experience selling in inside/outside sales is a plus.
• Knowledge of waterworks products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements sales plans to expand business in the assigned territory.
• Conducts calls and on-site customer visits to solicit orders.
• Answers questions about products, prices, durability, and credit terms; prepares estimates and bids.
• Develops and sustains sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
• Interacts with customers, vendors, and associates to resolve customer-related and service issues.
• Shares market and competitor intelligence within the company.
• Assists in training or mentoring associates; may train junior staff.
• Performs branch customer service duties on an as-needed basis.
