Job summary

Ports America seeks an Assistant Operations Manager to lead terminal operations and staff. You will direct activities, plan labor, and ensure safe, efficient service for our customers and cargo types.

You will help set goals and drive financial and operational results while upholding Ports America values. The role requires supervising foremen and labor, managing overtime, ensuring payroll accuracy, and coordinating with terminal departments to meet demand.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management, leadership, and/or supervisory experience
• 2+ years of experience with computerized operating systems, MS Office or related technologies
• Obtain and maintain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
• Valid US Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Manage the work activities of Foreman, Labor, and other personnel
• Determine labor needs and ensure proper staffing
• Control overtime cost and general expenditures
• Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with safety programs
• Coordinate with M&R/Terminal Departments for equipment allocation
• Maintain safety, training, and certifications for staff
• Communicate performance expectations to labor and management
• Travel as required to support operations
