Job summary

Gulf Winds International Inc. is seeking a Terminal Manager to lead the Houston terminal operations, overseeing dispatch, scheduling, driver retention, and cost control while ensuring safety and service excellence for internal and external customers.

You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and profitability. The role requires strong communication, ownership, and experience in drayage operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Solid understanding of the transportation industry and margins.
• Experience with driver pay structures and cost management.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations and execution of the plan.
• Set priorities for dispatchers and schedulers.
• Collaborate with Safety, Driver Recruitment, Customer Service, and Sales to support drivers and customers.
• Manage driver costs and productivity; monitor KPI performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop the transportation team; maintain strong relationships with independent contractors.
• Ensure P&L responsibility and cost controls to improve terminal profitability.
