Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Case Manager to support students with disabilities under IDEA and Section 504, coordinating evaluations, IEPs, and related services. The role collaborates with the ODLLSS and school staff to ensure timely processes and culturally responsive communication.

The position requires a valid PEL in Special Education or related endorsement, and at least two years in special education, with strong knowledge of applicable laws and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in special education or a master's in educational administration.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or School Support Personnel with supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and reg (incomplete in source).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required meetings under IDEA and as 504 Coordinator.
• Ensure IDEA and 504 timelines are met and parental notices are provided in the native language where feasible.
• Coordinate referrals for evaluations and ensure process completes within 60 school days after parental consent.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and act as District Representative.
• Finalize student IEP or 504 Plan in the school, and enter data in the Student Information System.
