Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Case Manager to coordinate special education services under IDEA and Section 504. You will serve as the district representative, chair IEP/504 conferences, and ensure timely processing of evaluations, notices, and parental consent.

The role requires a Master’s in educational administration or a Master’s in Special Education, and a valid PEL in SPED. Strong collaboration with ODLSS and CPS staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a Master’s in educational administration.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI and accountability standards.
• Familiarity with IDEA and Section 504 compliance requirements.
• Ability to communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required meetings under IDEA and as 504 Coordinator.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and act as District Representative.
• Ensure all timelines and required parental notices are met in IEP/504 processes.
• Coordinate referrals for FIE and evaluations within 60 school days of consent.
• Arrange services and support according to IEP/504 plans; collaborate with ODLSS.
