Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is hiring a Case Manager under the Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services (ODLSS). The role focuses on ensuring compliance with IDEA and Section 504, coordinating evaluations, IEP/504 development, and delivering services within students’ IEPs.

A valid PEL in Special Education and 2+ years in SPED are required. The position emphasizes collaboration with principals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement IEPs and to monitor student progress across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in special education or Master's in educational administration
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education (PK-Age 21) or School Support Personnel with supervisory endorsement
• Two or more years of experience in special education
• Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding delivery of special education and related services

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required meetings under the IDEA and as the 504 Coordinator for all Section 504 meetings
• Coordinate referrals for evaluations to ensure timely completion (60 school days post consent)
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and act as District Representative
• Ensure IEP/504 teams use data to make service decisions
• Finalize IEP or 504 Plan in the Student Information System and provide copies to families
• Provide training and support to school staff on IDEA and Section 504 requirements
• Assist with scheduling paraprofessionals and classroom staffing in line with IEPs/504 plans
