Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Case Manager to coordinate special education services under IDEA and Section 504. This role leads district representation at meetings and ensures timely evaluations, IEP/504 development, and effective data use to support diverse learners.

The position emphasizes collaboration with families, schools, and ODLSS to implement services and maintain compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or Master's in educational administration.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at IDEA and Section 504 meetings.
• Ensure all IDEA and Section 504 timelines are met.
• Process parental notices and consents for evaluations in the native language when feasible.
• Coordinate referrals for FIE and related evaluations to complete within 60 school days.
• Convene and chair IEP and 504 conferences and act as District Representative.
• Finalize each student’s IEP or 504 plan and ensure data is entered in SSM.
• Assist with scheduling paraprofessionals and student placements per IEPs.
