Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Case Manager to coordinate IEP and 504 plans, ensure timelines, and oversee evaluations for students with disabilities. The role collaborates with schools, interpreters, and families to implement services in compliance with IDEA and Section 504.

The position requires a Bachelor's or Master's in special education (or admin) and a valid PEL in Special Education, with 2+ years of relevant experience. CPS offers health, retirement, and family-friendly policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s in special education or a Master’s in educational administration.
• A valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education (PK-Age 21) endorsement or supervisory.
• Two+ years of experience in special education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required IDEA meetings and as 504 Coordinator.
• Coordinate referrals and evaluations to ensure timely completion within 60 school days.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and finalize plans in the student data system.
• Ensure timely parental notices and obtain language accommodations when feasible.
• Lead and support staff in implementing IEPs/504 Plans and MTSS strategies.
