State of Minnesota’s MnDOT District 6 seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators at the Transportation Generalist or Transportation Associate level across multiple district stations in Albert Lea, Austin, Dresbach, Owatonna, Red Wing, Rochester, Stewartville and Winona.

Temporary and Emergency roles include A/B shifts during snow and ice seasons; CDL (Class A/B) with endorsements is required; candidates may work overtime, nights, weekends, and must pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake restriction; Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.
• Pre-placement drug test for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, MDMA/MDA/MDEA, 6-AM.
• English literacy to read, write, speak, and communicate with staff and public.
• Background checks including criminal history and references.

Responsabilités

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
• Inspect winter equipment.
• Preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Transfer and manage anti-icing/de-icing chemicals.
• Install, repair, maintain, and remove snow fences and mailboxes.
• Document snow/ice data for inventory/resource reporting.
• Set up traffic control and notify dispatch of disabled vehicles.
