Job summary

State of Minnesota's MnDOT District 6 seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators to support snow and ice operations across multiple district locations, including Rochester. Shifts include night and day hours, with potential overtime during snow events.

Positions are emergency, intermittent, and may be full-time or part-time (2-5 days, M-F, 7:00am - 3:30pm) or snow & ice shifts. Applicants must hold a valid CDL (Class A or B) with no Airbrake restriction, pass pre-employment drug tests, and undergo

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand information; communicate with employees and the public; and maintain logs.
• The incumbent must pass pre-placement drug tests and background checks; CDL Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registered.

Responsibilities

• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post storm cleanup.
• Performs winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing and de-icing chemicals.
• Performs all work related to installing, repairing, maintaining, and removing snow fences; replacing mailboxes.
• Maintain documentation on snow and ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Performs traffic control set-ups and/or notifies dispatch of disabled vehicles.
