Job summary

State of Minnesota seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators across District 6A in multiple locations, including Albert Lea and Rochester. Positions are emergency, intermittent, with 12-hour shifts during snow events and potential overtime. CDL with endorsements required; drug testing and background checks apply.

Positions offer varied shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and holidays. New hires must be able to report to work within an hour of call and pass pre-placement tests.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake restriction or equivalent from another state.
• Must obtain Class A CDL with no Airbrake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.
• Subjects to pass pre-employment drug test and be in random testing pool; pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepare and inspect winter equipment.
• Perform preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Handle winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing and de-icing chemicals.
• Perform work related to installing, repairing, maintaining, and removing snow fences; replace mailboxes.
• Maintain documentation on snow and ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Set up traffic control and notify dispatch of disabled vehicles.
