Job summary

Bedford Public Schools is seeking a Temporary Computer Technician to support students and district staff, manage district-owned hardware, software and peripherals, and assist with subscription services across the schools.

The role includes routine maintenance, software installation and troubleshooting, configuring computers and mobile devices, and maintaining inventory and documentation of solutions; the 12-month term will be overseen by the Director of Information Systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft, iOS and ChromeOS operating systems with strong problem resolution skills.
• Experience in hardware and software installations and troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.)

Responsibilities

• Provide service and support to students and district employees; district-owned hardware, software and peripherals; district subscription services.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment and upgrades to software.
• Install and troubleshoot software while adhering to license requirements.
• Install, configure, repair and troubleshoot computers, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment, warranties and software licenses.
• Prioritize tech tickets, find resolutions and document repair solutions.
• Maintain department documentation with updated procedures, troubleshooting and problem-solving resolutions.
• May manage iOS devices through MDM and Chrome devices via Google Admin Console; deploy applications to mobile devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Systems/Technology and Library Media.
• Learn new systems and technology to meet changing demands.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
