Job summary

Bedford Public Schools is seeking a Temporary Computer Technician for October–December 2026 to support students and district staff with district-owned hardware, software and peripherals.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, software installation and troubleshooting, device configuration, inventory management, and handling tech tickets with documented resolutions. The role reports to the Director of Information Systems and may involve iOS/Chrome device management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft, iOS and ChromeOS operating systems with strong problem resolution skills.
• Experience in hardware and software installations and troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of equipment and upgrades to software.
• Install and troubleshoot software while adhering to license requirements.
• Install, configure, repair and troubleshoot computers, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment, warranties and software licenses.
• Prioritize tech tickets, find resolutions and document repair solutions.
• Maintain department documentation with updated procedures, troubleshooting and problem-solving resolutions.
• May manage iOS devices through MDM solutions, Chrome devices through the Google Admin Console, and application deployment to mobile devices.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Systems or Director of Technology and Library Media.
