Job summary

Bedford Public Schools (MA) seeks a Network and Server Engineer to install, repair, and troubleshoot computers and peripherals across district sites. The role reports to the Director of Information Systems and covers a 12-month term with responsibilities for maintaining servers and network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft operating systems, TCP/IP networking, and security management, plus the ability to work with stakeholders to keep district

Qualifications

• Microsoft operating systems, software applications and internet experience.
• Hands-on hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
• Firm understanding of TCP/IP and local area networking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (CORI) and fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor all servers and networking equipment.
• Back up all server data and maintain inventories.
• Design and implement network infrastructure for district continuity.
• Manage network security, including antivirus and intrusion protection.
• Coordinate with facilities and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure service levels and report usage on a scheduled basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer.
