Job summary

Rockland Trust in Massachusetts is seeking a Teller Specialist to lead the teller line, ensure compliance, and help achieve branch sales goals. You will coach tellers, drive service quality, and maintain daily operations with accuracy and empathy.

You will develop the team, process transactions, manage cash, and engage customers to identify banking needs while promoting self-service channels and protecting security and protocol.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Sales oriented with a positive approach to customer interactions.
• Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day teller line operations with Branch Manager supervision.
• Provide leadership, conflict resolution, and process improvements for the teller line.
• Engage tellers in sales by coaching on opportunities and referrals.
• Train and onboard new tellers; evaluate performance.
• Foster a cohesive team and positive work environment.
• Develop skills for effective supervision of colleagues.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash checks accurately.
• Manage branch cash, vault, and daily balance.
• Oversee teller outbound calls to assist onboarding of new customers.
• Use systems and reports to profile customers and generate leads.
• Promote self-service channels (ATM, Online Banking, Mobile).
• Prepare monthly reports (QA, Cash Audit, Teller Error).
• Adhere to security, compliance, and banking policies; train staff accordingly.
• Provide support for other departments when needed.
