Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a senior software engineer to architect, implement, and operate telemetry agents and instrumentation libraries that power observability at scale. You will work across OpenTelemetry, agents, and backends to deliver low-latency insights for countless services.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and design to build scalable, reliable telemetry that supports millions of hosts, with emphasis on safe rollout and maintainability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS or equivalent, 8+ years development
• Experience building scalable, real-time data management services
• Strong cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Proficient in Go, Java, or Python on Linux/UNIX
• Containers & Kubernetes production experience (EKS/GKE)
• Agile methodology experience and strong communication skills
• Reliability target 99.99% in production

Responsibilities

• Design and implement critical telemetry features
• Build scalable, maintainable agent and instrumentation code
• Collaborate with product, design, and other teams
• Deliver production code with regular cadence using Agile practices
• Ensure safe rollout across large fleets and manage footprint
