Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff for Unified Observability.

You will lead end-to-end design and delivery of AI-enhanced observability features, partnering with Product Management and cross-team engineers to ensure scalable data ingestion and fast, reliable telemetry across services. You will apply strong Java API design skills, frontend expertise with React/LWC, and hands-on OpenTelemetry tooling to shape a foundational platform while mentoring others and

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a leadership role
Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding environments
Ability to decompose product requirements into parallel engineering workstreams
Full-stack proficiency in Java and modern front-end frameworks (React/LWC)
Observability/telemetry stack experience including OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and metrics

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and end-to-end delivery of features from architecture to production
Collaborate with Product Management to align cross-functional architectural decisions
Drive data ingestion, query performance, and cost boundaries with partner teams
Define integration of Unified Observability with existing telemetry sources and instrumentation standards
Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and shape engineering culture
