Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City is seeking a part-time Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for Jersey City Medical Center. The role requires active NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS within 6 months, and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. This position supports patient assessments, medications, education, and care coordination in a high-acuity unit.

The RN works 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., every other weekend and rotating holidays, in a collaborative, safety-focused environment with

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing (or Multistate with NJ Endorsement)
• BLS certification; ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• Prior telemetry/medical-surgical experience
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes; intervene early
• Administer medications and treatments safely based on evidence and clinical judgment
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions
• Provide clear education to patients and families for next steps in care
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and team communication
• Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical ladder opportunities
