Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Telecom Section Manager for data center projects across the United States, with a hybrid work model. You will lead telecom system design, oversee cabling, room and plant design, and coordinate a multi-project portfolio while ensuring on-time delivery.

The role requires at least 4 years’ experience in telecom cabling, 2 years in leading a small team, and credentials such as RCDD or PE license.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum 2 years' experience of managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience working on the construction of data centers.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications cabling.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and Revizto.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across various projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads throughout the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Review of technical documents.
• Managing relationships with stakeholders.
• Active communication with the department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
