Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecommunications design for data center projects. You will oversee a team, coordinate with project leads and designers, and ensure timely delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

The role requires extensive experience in structured cabling, ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards, and strong project management skills. Hybrid work policy enables split time between offices and remote locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience of managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience working on the construction of data centers.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Familiarity working with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across various projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads throughout the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Review of technical documents.
• Managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Active communication with the department manager and the telecom leads to ensure deadlines are being met.
