Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead the telecommunications scope on data center projects across the United States. You will guide design teams, coordinate with SMEs, project leads, and clients, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality across multiple concurrent projects.

The role requires an associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, 4+ years leading telecom designs, a RCDD credential, and strong project management.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience leading telecommunications designs.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience working on the construction of data centers.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Familiarity working with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and leading project teams across multiple clients.
• Forecasting projects and staffing resources.
• Allocating budget for multiple projects.
• Mentoring project leads through design processes.
• Reviewing DIV 27 specifications and modifications.
• Conducting site visits and reviewing technical documents.
• Managing stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinating with department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
