Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecom scope on data center projects, coordinating with SME’s and project leads. This hybrid role supports clients nationwide and requires strong leadership and detailed design oversight.

You’ll manage multi-project teams, ensure on-time delivery, and drive technical decisions across structured cabling, room design, and plant systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience of managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience working on the construction of data centers.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Familiarity working with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Experience with responding to RFP’s.
• Experienced in creating a budget for a project.
• Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule.
• Experienced in identifying and mitigating company risk.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across various projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads throughout the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Review of technical documents.
• Managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Active communication with the department manager and the telecom leads to ensure deadlines are met
