Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecommunications scope on data center projects across the United States. You will design, coordinate, and deliver complex telecom systems, ensuring on-time performance and quality while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive knowledge of data center cabling, and familiarity with industry standards. Hybrid work policy applies, with opportunities to work from Jacobs offices and remote

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience on construction of data centers.
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to telecommunications cabling.
• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, Revizto.
• Ability to coordinate with other disciplines, PMs and clients.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Experience responding to RFPs.
• Experience budgeting and creating project schedules.
• Ability to identify and mitigate company risk.

Responsibilities

• Organize and assign a team of leads across various projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads throughout the design process.
• Review and modification of DIV 27 specifications.
• Conducting site visits and reviewing technical documents.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintaining deadlines through active communication with department managers.
