Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Telecom Section Manager to lead the telecommunications scope on multiple data center projects. You will oversee design activities, coordinate with SME teams, and ensure timely delivery while managing client and vendor relationships on a hybrid US basis.

The role requires a strong background in structured cabling, telecom room design, and inside/outside plant design, with experience in BIM tools and project management. PE license and additional low-voltage knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering is required, or related discipline; high school diploma considered for right candidate.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems and related projects.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience managing a small team; RCDD credential preferred.
• Experience with data center construction and ANSI/TIA/BICSI standards; strong knowledge of NFPA 70.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead a team of leads across projects and clients.
• Forecast projects and staff resources; budget multiple projects.
• Guide and mentor leads through the design process; review DIV 27 specs.
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents; manage stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure projects are completed on time; coordinate with telecom leads and department manager.
