Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead the telecommunications scope on data center projects across the United States. The role involves design leadership, team mentoring, and cross-functional coordination within the ICT department.

The position requires a strong background in structured cabling, telecom room design, and inside/outside plant systems, with responsibility for on-time project delivery and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is required or a high school diploma may be considered for the right person.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience working on data centers.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications cabling systems.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Experience responding to RFPs; budgeting and scheduling experience.
• Ideally, active PE license; experience with other low voltage systems (AV, Wireless).

Responsibilities

• Organizing and leading a team of leads across multiple projects and clients.
• Forecasting projects and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding project leads through the design process.
• Reviewing and modifying DIV 27 specifications.
• Conducting site visits and reviewing technical documents.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintaining timely communication with department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
