Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel. The role focuses on achieving constructability and sequencing excellence for on-site telecom and low voltage work.

You will collaborate with internal teams and contractors to develop robust bid packages, assess risks, and optimize schedule and cost.

Qualifications

• 8 years minimum in Electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical design drawings for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design/constructability concerns and technical interpretation issues.
• Identify schedule and cost-savings opportunities from existing design or modularization possibilities.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom/low voltage for construction sequencing and build-out.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with design and construction schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award with internal project teams.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full work breakdown structure development.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability impacts.
