Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction on major industrial projects. The role emphasizes constructability, sequencing, and early contractor engagement to ensure full scope coverage and efficient build-out on site.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate bid packages, and identify opportunities to optimize schedule and cost. Travel up to 50% is possible across multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Electrical engineering or 15+ years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities based on design and modularization options.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure.
