Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects and to lead bid package development for on-site telecom and low voltage work.

You will coordinate with internal teams and contractors across U.S. sites, identifying risks, optimizing sequencing, and driving constructibility improvements. Travel up to 50% and a path toward leadership in Advanced Manufacturing are key elements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years experience in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns related to engineering drawings and specs.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on design and modularization capabilities.
• Identify trade partners to be involved in early contractor engagement through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing and build out.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and synchronize with design and schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages based on design for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development.
• Assist with reviews of Vendor Data Requirement submittals during design phase for constructability and impacts to packages.
