Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge design and construction for major industrial projects. You will coordinate with internal teams and contractors to develop bid packages and ensure complete scope coverage on site, including low‑voltage work and constructability input.

The role emphasizes design constructability, sequencing, and early contractor engagement to optimize schedules and costs. Travel up to 50% may be required across multiple sites in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• 8+ years experience electrical engineering or 15+ years construction management for industrial projects.
• Ability to interpret low‑voltage electrical drawings and specifications for construction.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design and constructability concerns and disputes.
• Identify schedule and cost saving opportunities based on design and modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design.
• Organize cross‑discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with design and schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full WBS development and scope understanding.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability and impacts.
