Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. You will lead cross-functional teams, develop complete bid packages, and ensure constructability and sequencing for telecom and low voltage work on site.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive coordination with internal and external teams, and a focus on risk management to optimize schedule and cost. Remote travel up to 50% across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience; certified technical training preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical drawings for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design and constructability issues and disputes.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from existing designs or modularization potential.
• Identify and engage trade partners early in design phase.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with design and schedule.
