Job summary

The MIL Corporation in Lexington Park, MD is seeking a Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician I to support Inside Plant cabling and related infrastructure for a federal government client. The role involves on-site work with a heavy travel requirement to Hawaii and adjacent duties at Camp Smith, HI.

Responsibilities include coordinating materials and crews, interfacing with customers, and performing ISP installation tasks with safety and quality at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Requires understanding of TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE standards as they apply to OSI Layer 1 infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret engineering packages and support job-site coordination.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional interfacing with project staff and customers.
• Experience in ISP/OSP cabling environments and knowledge of safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering packages and coordinate materials, tools, and crews.
• Interface with end customers and attend project meetings; submit status reports.
• Work with ISP installation crews on infrastructure installation, demolition, and updating.
• Assist with pre-installation testing of materials.
• Work in confined spaces as needed and maintain safety standards.
• Maintain proficiency with copper and ensure quality of workmanship.
