Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician I (Telecommunications Engineering Tech, I) to support Inside Plant cabling and related infrastructure for a federal government project at Camp H.M. Smith, HI.

Preference given to candidates near Lexington Park, MD, but nationwide applications are considered. The role requires on-site work, with a 4 twelve-hour day schedule and up to 90% travel to Hawaii for extended assignments.

Qualifications

• Understanding of OSI Layer 1 infrastructure standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE).
• Ability to interpret engineering packages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Ability to interface professionally with project staff and team members.
• Ability to perform ISP installation tasks.
• Must lift items to NIOSH limits; able to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders.
• Able to work in hot/cold, high/ confined spaces; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering packages and coordinate materials/tools/work crews.
• Interface with end customer; attend project meetings; submit status reports.
• Work within ISP installation crews to install/demonstrate infrastructure.
• Assist with pre-installation testing of materials.
• Perform duties in confined spaces as necessary.
• Maintain safety and quality of effort; handle copper installations.
