Job summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician I (Telecommunications Engineering Tech, I) to support ISP cabling installation for a federal project at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. Preference for candidates near Lexington Park, MD, but others considered.

Position is on-site with a 4x12 schedule, and extensive travel to Hawaii is required. Responsibilities include coordinating materials, interfacing with customers, performing ISP installations, pre-install testing, and

Qualifications

• Understanding of OSI Layer 1 infrastructure standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering packages and coordinate installation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Ability to lift and perform in confined spaces; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering packages and support job site coordination for materials, tools, and work crews
• Interface with the end customer, attend project meetings, submitting daily or weekly status reports as applicable
• Work within ISP installation crews to perform infrastructure installation, demolition, and updating
• Assist with pre-installation testing of materials
• Perform efforts within confined spaces as necessary
• Maintain responsibility for quality of effort and safety of personnel
• Maintain proficiency working with copper
