Job summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician III to support Inside Plant cabling and related infrastructure for a federal program at Camp H.M. Smith, HI.

Preference for candidates near Lexington Park, MD, but nationwide consideration is possible. The role currently requires an on-site schedule of four 12-hour days per week, with travel up to 90% to Hawaii for extended assignments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ ISP/Osp cabling experience.
• Knowledge of TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering packages.
• Experience in inside/outside cable plant environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Ability to interface with project staff and team members.
• Must be able to lift items to NIOSH limits.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in hot and cold environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for a three-person Telecom team with PMs and Engineers.
• Interpret engineering packages and support material/tool coordination.
• Interface with end customers and attend project meetings; submit status reports.
• Work with ISP installation crews on infrastructure installation, demolition, and updates.
• Assist with pre-installation testing of materials.
• Perform tasks in confined spaces as required.
• Maintain safety and quality of work; ensure copper proficiency.
