Job summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician II to support Inside Plant cabling installation for a Federal Government client at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. Preferred candidates will reside near Lexington Park, MD, though others will be considered.

The role is on-site with a 4‑12 hour day schedule and extensive travel (up to 90% to Hawaii). Responsibilities include coordinating materials, interfacing with customers, supporting ISP installation crews, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

3-5 years ISP/OSP cabling experience.
Understanding of TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE standards as they apply to OSI Layer 1 installations.
Ability to interpret engineering packages.
Experience in inside and outside cable plant environments.
Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to interface professionally with project staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

Interpret engineering packages and support job-site coordination for materials, tools, and crews.
Interface with the end customer and attend project meetings; submit status reports.
Work with ISP installation crews to install, demolish, and update infrastructure.
Assist with pre-installation testing of materials.
Perform tasks in confined spaces and ensure safety and quality.
