Job summary

Goodwin is seeking an Attorney Development Manager to lead development and engagement for associates in an assigned cohort. You will solicit input from partners, provide real-time feedback, and guide performance and talent decisions to align with the firm’s strategic goals.

In collaboration with Practice Management, Talent, and Advisors, you will identify staffing needs, coach attorneys, and support onboarding, integration, and career progression in a fast-paced, global law firm environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree strongly preferred in legal practice.
• 5+ years in a large law firm or professional services.
• Experience in legal staffing, workforce planning, or attorney development.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to handle multiple high-priority projects with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day development, performance, and engagement for assigned Attorneys.
• Lead onboarding and integration to ensure smooth cultural fit and workflows.
• Align attorney skills with client work through strategic staffing decisions.
• Gather and synthesize feedback to inform development plans and evaluations.
• Collaborate with Practice Management, Talent, and Advisors on programs.
• Identify trends and shape strategies for hiring, retention, and advancement.
• Facilitate training initiatives and career path clarity.
